Delta has devoted itself to environmental protection and energy saving. Delta contributions to sustainable development includes energy-efficient products, the use of alternative energy sources, recycling, life cycle thinking, process development, green manufacturing processes ,personnel training, waste management programs and taking environmental issues into account when building facilities. We also use a green product management system that takes into account not only our environmental performance but also that of our suppliers. Our sustainable efforts include:-
Wooden pallet recovery and reuse:
Delta factories recovered 136.14 tonnes of wooden pallets, which were converted into wooden products for reuse from Jan 09 to April’11
Use of Solar power:
By using this technique we have generated 97581 KWH of energy, thereby reducing GHG emissions by saving 82.33 tonnes of CO2 between Jan’09 to Apr’11
Reuse of Corrugated boxes:
From Jan’09 to Apr’11, Delta factories reused 18.3 tonnes of corrugated boxes.
Effluent and Wastes Management:
Effluent:
From Jan’09 to April 2011, Delta’s total effluent volume was around 6348 KL with most being domestic sewage. The effluent was not discharged into the sewer system, but we have used the same in the non contact applications like gardening and flushing.
Electronic Waste :
15.61 tonnes of Electronic waste includes scrap electronic materials, waste wires, cables and printed circuit boards (PCBs), etc was safely disposed and recycled by a pollution Control board vendor from Jan’09 to Apr’11.
Metallic Waste :
22.27 tonnes of Metallic waste includes waste silicon steel, scrap iron, scrap aluminum, mixed metal, solder residues, etc was safely disposed and recycled by a pollution Control board vendor from Jan’09 to Apr’11.
Plastic Waste : 28.7 tonnes Plastic waste includes scrap plastic reels, cases, etc. was safely disposed and recycled by pollution Control board vendor from Jan’09 to Apr’11.
Waste Pallets :
216 tonnes of waste pallets were sent for recycling by a pollution Control board vendor from Jan’09 to Apr’11.
Waste Paper/Cartons :
197 tonnes of waste paper and cartons were sent for recycling by a pollution Control board vendor from Jan’09 to Apr’11
