A central air conditioning system is composed of air handling units (AHU), chiller pumps, chiller units, cooling pumps, and cooling towers. It dissipates indoor heat to the outdoors through a fluid medium, such as air, iced water, cooling water, or refrigerant. During the dissipation, the system drives fans and pumps to transmit the medium. The traditional air conditioning system is usually equipped with an extra load to cool down the environment properly. This results in high construction and operation cost as the system is constantly running under load. In addition, the general air conditioning is often short of an energy-saving mechanism to adjust and control energy usage for optimized operation conditions with less consumption.
Delta integrates programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and fan and pump drives for an energy-saving air conditioning system solution. It can be applied to AHU, chiller unit, cooling systems and ice storage equipment. The solution also connects the SCADA system with Ethernet switches for centralized control and monitoring of temperature, humidity, scheduling and operation.
