Sai Kumar, Director, Pro MFG Media caught up with Manish Walia, Business Head of Industrial Automation, Delta Electronics (India) Pvt. Ltd. at the Automation Expo in Mumbai some time back, where Mr. Walia shared details on Delta’s participation at the expo as well as about Delta’s endeavors in creating a complete automation solution for the manufacturing industry.
Tell us about Delta’s participation at the Automation Expo 2022.
At the Automation Expo 2022, Delta had put up live demonstration of the following three solutions:
1. CFP AC motor drive demo kit wherein it is showing a working drive in the shower,
2. Articulated robot with Delta flag,
3. Three SCARA robots doing pick & place activity.
These solutions show Delta’s capability of providing a complete solution for the industries. We also displayed posters depicting Delta’s IIOT solutions, products range from drive motion equipment to sensing control to networking to management as well as Data acquisition & optimization
How has been the India manufacturing growth story for Delta in the recent times?
Delta India already has three manufacturing facilities – one each at Rudrapur, Gurugram and Hosur. We are committed to investment in the Indian market. In fact, our upcoming facility in Krishnagiri will be a global set up. It won’t be just for the India market. And you will see a very rapid growth of the businesses from Krishnagiri. We also have two R&D Centres in India, one in Gurugram and one in Bengaluru.
As you are aware, Delta offers automation products and solutions with high performance and reliability. Our product line includes drives; motion control systems; industrial control and communication; power quality improvement; human machine interfaces; sensors; metering; and robotic solutions. Besides this, we also provide information monitoring and management systems such as SCADA and Industrial EMS for smart manufacturing solutions.
While Delta has been a key player in the machine automation segment, we have also expanded into factory automation, process automation, robotics solutions, vision solutions, camera solutions, and even other gantry solutions using our motion products.
What is Delta’s USP?
We believe that we have good engineering strength. In terms of execution, Delta is considered one of the best in the industry in terms of building the systems and solutions around the robots or using our control system or using our devices and the software.
Of course, selling the product to the integrators is one part of business, which is growing very rapidly. Apart from this, we are into integration and the solution building around the robots or the gantry solution using many of our product lines. We also support our integrators through our technological understanding or the domain understanding.
